Organization management

Using Organizations in AirData

The Organization feature allows you to align users and pilots into regions, teams, or business units within your account. This gives you more granular control of who can access data and makes it easier to manage large groups of pilots.

Adding an Organization to a Pilot Profile

Each pilot profile has an Organization field.
You can enter the team, region, or business unit the pilot belongs to here.

What You Can Do with Organizations

Once organizations are added to pilot profiles, you can use them throughout the platform in several ways:

1. Search for Flights by Organization

Using the Advanced Search Tool, you can filter flights by organization.

IMPORTANT: This feature is only available with our new navigation system. If you’d like it added to your account so you can filter by organization, please let us know at support@airdata.com.

2. View and Sort Pilots by Organization

The Pilots table lets you view and sort pilots by organization.
You can also search for specific organizations in this table.

3. Create Reports by Organization

When creating reports, you can generate results grouped by organization.
This helps you quickly analyze data by region, team, or department.

4. Include Organization in Reports

When running reports, you can also include the organization field as a column for extra detail.

 Organization Admin Features

The Organization Admin setting has been visible in accounts for several months.

Before September 2025
The Org Admin role only controlled whether the admin could receive alerts triggered for pilots within their organization.

New in September 2025

Org Admins now have admin-level permissions over the flights of pilots in their organization. Alternatively, you can configure Org Admins to have view-only access within their organization. Specifically, you can allow an Org Admin to:

  • Only view flights for pilots in their organization (as opposed to viewing all flights in the account)

  • Edit flights (without delete permissions)

  • Delete flights (without edit permissions)

  • Edit and delete flights

In other words, Org Admins can be configured with the same level of control over flights as a full account admin, but their permissions are restricted to the pilots in their assigned organization — and the scope of those permissions is adjustable by the account admin.

IMPORTANT: The ability for Org Admins to manage flights for pilots within their organization is only available with our new navigation system. If you would like us to upgrade your account to the new navigation system, please let us know at support@airdata.com.

Future updates
In upcoming releases, Org Admin permissions will extend to other areas of the product — for example, viewing and managing equipment assigned to pilots in their organization.

Summary

The Organization feature makes it easier to manage large accounts by grouping pilots into logical units like regions, teams, or business groups. With the ability to filter flights, run reports, and assign Org Admins with flight-view and alerting privileges, this feature ensures that pilots and managers see the data that’s relevant to them.

"Org Admins now have full admin access over the flights of pilots in their organization"

That is something we don't like (regarding the possibility to edit and delete). In fact, we now have to withdraw 'org admin'-privileges. This is very inconvenient. If that should be a option, that should be able to toggle.
